CHILDREN OF BODOM, NIGHTWISH Members To Guest On STONER KINGS Album
February 12, 2006Finland's STONER KINGS are set to release their sophomore effort, entitled "Fuck the World", on March 1.
After persevering through line-up changes, near break-up, considerable backlash by certain members of the metal and rock community, including the changing of the tides within the music industry and even being dropped from their former label Massacre Records, STONER KINGS are back with a vengeance.
"This is our show of arms in this day and age of faux musical excess and cloning," stated the band's vocalist Canada's own Starbuck, who also moonlights as a successful professional wrestler in Europe and currently stands as the reigning Finnish PWF champion. "We've been turned away at so many a door, been spat in the face so many a time, been fucked over and blackballed on so many occasions that it's only fueled our hunger, made us angrier and created one hell of a vehicle for sonic retribution! It doesn't get any more real or true than this, that I can guarantee."
"Fuck the World" will feature special guest performances by such names as Alexi Laiho from CHILDREN OF BODOM, Marco Hietala from NIGHTWISH and Pasi Rantanen from THUNDERSTONE, among others.
"We're fortunate to have such a fantastic list of players and performers on this upcoming album," stated Starbuck. "Whereas the political forces in this industry don't want to believe in us the real players — in addition to our faithful fans — do, and to these guys I personally show the utmost respect and gratitude. These are my brothers in arms, who were there when I needed them."
"Fuck the World" will be released through the bands own Rebel Breed Recordings imprint. This sophomore outing will also feature the talents of new bassist Blackie, who replaced the departed Gonzo at the end of 2005. A CD-release party is scheduled for March 1 at Finland's most famous rock club, Tavastia in Helsinki.
